What is IRC?
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. This is a fancy way of saying chatting keyboard-to-keyboard with people as close as next door, or as far away as across the globe, via the Internet and IRC chat servers. IRC is very fun and enjoyable, and really, can be quite addictive.

How do I connect to IRC?
In order to participate in any internet chatting, you will need a program that will connect to IRC servers. We have a link for downloading the best program available (totally free of charge), but before you do that, look at our IRC Tutorial here. This will explain everything to you step-by-step and in great detail.

What am I allowed to say on the #Pipes channel?

How do I register my nickname?

What is the "@" symbol in front of some of the nicknames?
The @ symbol denotes a person who is a Channel Operator. These people (OPs) maintain order and decorum within a channel, but are also there to help you with any questions or problems you may encounter. Feel free to call on them for anything you wish.
